Amy Leffel
Hey!
My name is Amy Leffel, I am 16 going on 17 this summer, and I live in Westerville, Ohio. I am a junior in high school and will be getting ready for college in a little over a year. In college I plan on studying International Issues and maybe study education. In the long term I hope to do some international relief work and development. However, for the present, am involved in the high school group in our church and love having Bible study with my friends, going to school, and other miscellaneous activities.
As far as interests go, I love to travel! I have been to several countries is Asia including Cambodia and Indonesia. More recently I have traveled to Haiti (pre-earthquake) and hope to return soon. One trip that I hold in a special place was my trip to Mexico 3 years ago. Here I discovered the burden God has given me for the downtrodden and hopeless. In Monterrey, Mexico I had the chance to work with orphans, and I was touched by their delicate hearts and traumatic experiences.
My travels have also sparked an interest in other cultures and in art. I love art, both making it and seeing it. Art is a wonderful expression of ones self, that sometimes words cannot describe. I also love to be active outdoors, whether it be hiking, biking, swimming, or sitting with a book, I love to be outside in the sun.
I am super jazzed about this trip and I know I will meet so many fun people and God will teach me and grow me through this experience. What a wonderful opportunity!
